Broncos' Ronnie Perkins: Shifts to IR
Rotowire
Perkins (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday after going unclaimed on waivers, per the NFL's transaction log.
Perkins was waived/injured by the Broncos on Tuesday and after clearing waivers, he's reverted to the team's IR. The third-year outside linebacker will now miss all of 2024 unless the two sides reach an injury settlement at some point this year.

Broncos' Justin Strnad: Nursing groin injury
Rotowire
Strnad was unavailable for practice Tuesday with a groin injury, Ryan McFadden of The Denver Post reports.
Strnad will have a few more days to get back out on the practice field ahead of Denver's preseason opener Sunday in Indianapolis. The linebacker re-signed with the Broncos in March, and he's attempting to secure a top reserve spot at interior linebacker in 2024.

Broncos' Alec Mock: Headed to Denver
Rotowire
Mock and the Broncos agreed on a contract Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports.
Mock initially signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in May before ultimately being waived in June. He will now compete for an active roster spot as a depth option at interior linebacker behind Alex Singleton and Cody Barton in 2024.

Broncos' Cody Barton: Getting competition in camp
Rotowire
Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette relays that Barton is battling Jonas Griffith for the starting inside linebacker job alongside Alex Singleton.
Barton spent the first four years of his career in Seattle after the Seahawks drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He joined the Commanders for 2023, and across 13 regular-season games he recorded 121 tackles (67 solo), one pass defended, one interception and one fumble recovery. Barton signed a one-year deal with the Broncos in March, and while he has more experience and reps than Griffith, the two linebackers are expected to compete for a starting role in Denver's defense in training camp and in preseason games.

Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Battling for starting job
Rotowire
Griffith, who tore his ACL in August of 2023, has been participating in drills during Denver's training camp and is competing against Cody Barton for the starting inside linebacker job alongside Alex Singleton, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Griffith noted after practice Monday that he was determined to recover from his torn ACL as fast as running back Javonte Williams did last year, per Tomasson. Griffith was able to return to minicamp in June, and the 27-year-old linebacker out of Indiana State is in a battle with Barton for the starting role at inside linebacker. Griffith signed with the Broncos in 2021, and across the first two years of his NFL career, he accumulated 92 tackles (48 solo), one pass defended, one interception and one fumble recovery over 22 regular-season games.

Broncos' Greg Dulcich: Listed behind Trautman initially
Rotowire
Dulcich is listed as the Broncos' No. 2 tight end on the team's initial unofficial depth chart, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.
Dulcich, who was limited to just two regular-season appearances in 2023 as he dealt with hamstring and foot issues, is listed behind Adam Trautman and ahead of Lucas Krull on Denver's current unofficial depth chart. That said, if Dulcich is able to stay healthy and impress as the preseason progresses, the 2022 third-rounder has the pass-catching upside to carry the most fantasy utility among the team's top TE trio in 2024.

Broncos' Tim Patrick: Depth chart standing posted
Rotowire
Patrick is listed as a starter on the Broncos' initial unofficial depth chart, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.
When it comes to preseason depth charts posted by NFL teams, listings often need to be taken with a grain of salt, and in the case of Denver's initial version, it's notable that no rookie (including QB Bo Nix) is listed higher than third-string. With regard to Patrick, it's encouraging that the 30-year-old -- who last saw regular-season action in 2021 -- appears to have moved past the serious injuries that derailed his last two campaigns. That said, it remains to be seen what his role might be come Week 1, with Marvin Mims, Josh Reynolds and rookie Troy Franklin all vying for slotting behind top WR Courtland Sutton. In terms of ADP and consensus rankings, Mims and Franklin are generally next up on the radar of fantasy drafters.

Broncos' Bo Nix: Third on unofficial depth chart
Rotowire
Nix is listed as the No. 3 quarterback on Denver's first unofficial depth chart Tuesday.
Nix is listed behind both Jarrett Stidham (No. 1) and Zach Wilson (No. 2) on the Broncos' first unofficial preseason depth chart, but it's worth noting that every member of Denver's rookie class is listed at the bottom of his respective positional group. In practice, the Broncos have been regularly rotating members of the quarterback room with the first-team offense, and there still appears to be a true ongoing competition for the Week 1 gig. Preseason action could help narrow things down, potentially beginning with Sunday's road exhibition context against the Colts, depending on whom coach Sean Payton opts to have see the field.

Broncos' Jarrett Stidham: Atop unofficial depth chart
Rotowire
Stidham is listed as the No. 1 quarterback on the Broncos' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason Tuesday.
Stidham is currently in the lead of Denver's quarterback competition, per the team's first unofficial depth chart, with Zach Wilson listed as the No. 2 man and rookie first-round pick Bo Nix in the No. 3 spot. Preseason depth charts mean little, though, especially given the caveat that not a single rookie is listed higher than as a third-stringer. Competition for the Week 1 starter gig could stretch deep into the preseason for Stidham, Nix and Wilson. If coach Sean Payton opts for all three quarterbacks to get some action during Sunday's exhibition matchup against the Colts, one or two of those signal-callers could have an early opportunity to pull away from the pack.

Broncos' Eyioma Uwazurike: Reinstated from suspension
Rotowire
Uwazurike was reinstated Monday after serving a year-long suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy.
Uwazurike was one of 10 players suspended for violating the league's gambling policy in 2023, and he's now eligible to participate in all team activities after being reinstated Monday. The 2022 fourth-round pick out of Iowa State appeared in eight regular-season games during his rookie campaign, recording 17 total tackles and one pass defended. Now that Uwazurike is back on the field, he's expected to compete for a depth role on Denver's defensive line.
