Peacemaker along with Zatanna watched as Robin a preteen figure in a hooded cape, eye mask, red bodysuit with green sleeves and a yellow R symbol on the right side of his suit behind a black circle leaped down with a sword and stabbed at Grundy. "A freakish corpse that probably doesn't even have a piece of its old mind in there... Pretty sure this means I am free to dismember this thing to pieces..." the figure Robin spoke with a bloodthirst grin as Grundy then punched him hard off him and Batman went to help him up.
"Robin! I told you to focus on keeping the civilians at bay which I work on strategy! You could get yourself killed..." Batman sternly told Robin who who didn't look phased by the scolding.
"Grandfather gave me plenty of more impressive foes to spar against growing up! I can handle him alright!" Robin snapped as Zatanna summoned a violet hand to keep the civilians away and Peacemaker was helping push them back with his shield. Robin then jumped back at Grundy to get at the sword but he felt his foot being tangled up by a grappling hook as Batgirl pulled him away with his grappling hook.
"Wait... You're that cosplayer that was out of your depth in Gotham and now you moved here and got together with a bunch of costumed idiots!" Robin snapped at Batgirl who didn't look any happier seeing him either.
"Your welcome for saving your life Brat Wonder! You clearly need help and here is where we come in; the Super Friends!" Batgirl then told him as Robin scoffed as he got up and pushed her back as Limelight went to work trying to use construct binds to hold Grundy that he was able to break out of.
"You are so pathetic that you needed to team up with a bunch of losers in order to get anything done!" Robin retorted as Batgirl was ready for a fight.
"Robin! Like it or not; this is not a fight we can do alone! You are going to behave or else..." Batman sternly told him and Robin then fumed as Batman then faced the Super Friends. "Super Friends; anything in your arsenal that can help us?" Batman then asked as they thought about it and Batman's eyes ended up looking to Peacemaker making him jump. "Peacemaker; I understand that though your predecessor was a murdering manchild, he had access to weapons that could be useful to him. Do you have access to them?" Batman asked and Peacemaker coughed upon this famous masked crimefighter talking to him
"Well... I just want to say that I can't argue with that description of him... But yes; all his weapons are now kind of mind but they are all at my HQ and it will take a while to get there and back and even then there are too many for me to carry..." Peacemaker then told him and Zatanna stepped in.
"I can help with that; teleport you in and actually... I also have a spell in my book that can actually send this thing to Hell... However it's complicated and tricky and it will need Grundy being held still in order for me to to do it..." Zatanna then explained as Wonder Woman then stepped forward and got her sword ready.
"Zatanna you have a portal open up for Peacemaker while preparing your spell; Supergirl and I will focus on fighting Grundy while the rest focuses on keeping civilians in safety." Wonder Woman then told them as Robin scoffed with his arms folded.
"You think that we are going to listen to some warrior princess wannabe then you have another thing coming..." Robin retorted as Batman stepped forward.
"That is the plan; Robin stick to the plan and if you engage Grundy again without my command then you will be benched for a week." Batman commanded as Robin was open mouthed and then glared harshly while Batgirl couldn't hep but smugly stick out her tongue at him. "Batgirl; use these to disorient Grundy if he gets close to her." Batman told Batgirl handing her some smoke grenades and Batgirl grinned excitedly at Batman not only acknowledging her but giving her some of her gadgets.
Then they got to work and Zatanna opened up the portal for Peacemaker while getting out her book to look through. Limelight began using a dome construct for the area as Batman and the others were outside making sure that the civilians were away just in case. Robin was grumbling and Bumblebee was in the air directing people away looking afraid as she glanced at Grundy.
Grundy leaped at the dome and was banging against it as Wonder Woman then jumped at him and punched him as Supergirl then used heat vision at the the zombie monster and then went and punched him in the face. Grundy looked at them and turned and went back to work on banging the dome as they noticed.
"He... Doesn't want to fight us?" Wonder Woman questioned as Supergirl's eyes widened.
"Wait... Is it because we're girls?" Supergirl asked looking insulted.
"Well... It could be as he did live in the 20s..." Limelight said as Grundy then managed to break through the construct dome and Batgirl went and used the smoke bombs onto him. to disorient him and Peacemaker jumped out of the portal with a rocket launcher and fired up on Grundy.
"I just used a rocket launcher against a zombie and I'm not even 16 yet... My life is so awesome..." Peacemaker muttered with a wide grin on his face as Supergirl then went and punched him hard in the gut as Bumblebee was in the air with a gulp as she zapped at his eyes from a distance further disorienting him. Batman threw cables at Grundy's hands managing to cuff him and before he could break apart; Limelight used construct chains around and Wonder Woman then used the Lasso of Truth around him.
Then there was a purple pentagram on the ground around him as Peacemaker then tossed the rocket launcher back through the portal and it closed up. Zatanna then shouted out "FLESTI LLEH OT RETSNOM SIHT ESRUC!" Then they all let go as Grundy was then forced through the pentagram and the civilians started cheering relieved.
"Good work there Super Friends. Metropolis is in good hands." Batman told them and it was especially Batgirl and Peacemaker who were excited by the praise but then Batman and Robin ended up leaving before anything more could be said.
The police arrived and they then left; Lincoln and Zee went back to the area in their civilian clothes feeling wiped out and there was Zatara embracing them relieved. "So glad that it's over but that Zatanna girl... What she pulled off was impressive and anyone would be proud to have her as a daughter..." Zatara told the and Lincoln and Zee blinked feeling nervous but Zatara smiled at them.
"It was cool and... Sorry that the show was ruined and you didn't get to perform daddy." Zee said as Zatara sighed.
"We can always put on another show and hopefully the two young promising magicians can show their stuff again if that's alright." Zatara said as Commissioner Gordon then went to see them while the police officers were checking on everyone.
"Glad that it's settled but disappointed that my old friend was here and I didn't get to see him... Are you 2 alright?" Gordon asked checking on Lincoln and Zee with a worried look as they brushed it off. "I am allowed to worry over my daughter's friends but still... I am just wondering how exactly Cyrus Gold rose from the swamp..." Gordon then said putting a hand to his moustache as a suited grey haired detective went up to him with a mini plastic bag. "Turpin; you got something for me?" Gordon then asked the office Detective Dan Turpin.
"We checked the area of the remainder of the Slaughter Swamp and we found a leftover notebook filled with poems... The writing says that it belongs to a Lucy Loud..." Turpin then said as Gordon, Lincoln and Zee's eyes widened.
"Oh no... Lucy; please tell me that you didn't..." Lincoln then groaned holding his head as Gordon looked stern.
"Lincoln; how about I drive you home since it looks like I need to have a talk with your parents and sister and how we have a policy about not bringing the dead back to life..." Gordon then offered to Lincoln.
Lincoln was soon home in his bedroom and was on a video call with the girls; "Yeah... Babs; your dad isn't happy and I am certain that he hasn't forgotten about finding Lucy and the other younger sisters sneaking about your home during the sleepover. I heard my Dad end up bringing up that she had summoned a beast before back in Royal Woods and now Lucy is being warned that Metropolis doesn't take kindly to it... Honestly she means well but I don't think she grasped how seriously summoning monsters in this city would be taken..." Lincoln explained with a sigh hoping that Lucy would not be too harshly punished.
"I had classmates who had gotten into trouble once at school for trying to use the chemicals in the science lab to give them super powers. Metropolis doesn't like people trying to make things worse or being idiots about it.Karen said as Barbara nodded.
"Same thing in Gotham; Dad once got called to my old high school when a classmate tried to make his own Joker gas..." Barbara said and she heard something and then left and they heard squealing and then she went back. "Everyone... Batman was just at my window and... He left this!" Barbara said showing off a signed Batarang and they looked happy for her.
"So does that mean that he knows our identities... I know they say he's the world's greatest detective but..." Lincoln asked as they thought about it and tried not to go into it further. Lincoln then noticed something on the signature on the Batarang and looked to the signature on the signed Bruce Wayne picture but then shrugged it off; he was probably seeing things. "Plus Karen; Zee and I got this for you to collect tomorrow..." Lincoln said showing off the picture and Karen got excited.
"Before we go; I just want to say that I enjoyed our act together Lincoln and I hope we can do it again..." Zee said and Lincoln nodded; hopefully she won't have to send another zombie to Hell again...
Grundy found himself in some sort of throne room with the ground being made of lava rocks; "Look Teekl; another friend to play with..." spoke a preteen in a suit with black hair that was shaped like devil horns as he was stroking a cat.
"Behave Klarion my son..." spoke a voice as sitting on a throne was a violet haired woman in a dark purple dress looking at Grundy and she held him in some sort of violet chains. "I am Tala the queen of this part of Hell and you shall refer to me as your master if you are capable of speech..." she then told him sternly...
