Name every game you've finished this year (2)

>granblue fantasy relink
Recommend on sale, it was worth full price when multiplayer was active, but its not anymore. Really fun game
>dragons dogma 2
I had a blast unironically but wouldn't recommend it to most people. Dlc could make this a legitimately great game though, it definitely has the foundation, just needs more enemies, scaling NG+, and a repeatable content loop
>persona 3 reload
First persona game for me, 10/10
>persona 5 royal
10/10
>persona 4 golden
11/10 elder god tier
>persona 5 strikers
If you loved p5 then highly recommend, really fun game and a road trip is such a good setting
>ghost of tsushima
I fricking loved this game, play on hard or lethal though otherwise it's braindead combat early on, but the difficulty picks up later either way. Immaculate art direction and kino story, minus a couple aspects of the side stories.
>shadow of the erdtree
If you like elden ring you'll like it, I personally love it although it's not perfect and could've been better, especially for 40 bucks.

>games started and not finished
>kcd
20 hours in, will finish before sequel
>smt v vengeance
Playing now, it's fricking kino

you gotta play House M.D. DS next to keep up the TV show adaptation slop. I think there was also a Monk or Law & Order game on there as well.

      >like a dragon Gaiden
felt like a DLC that they decided to try and make a standalone, it worried me for the future and I never finished Infinite Wealth since it's story is so absolute sh*t.
      >gears of war 1& 2
that people unironically thought this story and these games were better than halo boggles my mind. I'm halfway through 3 but these games are as 360 slop as it gets.
      >Still Wakes the Deep
a walking sim I beat because it was on gamepass and is incredibly short. really cool monster designs at least but that's about it.
      >Watchdogs
I remember this game getting sh*t all over at launch for being a boring protagonist with a boring story and unremarkable gameplay. I had a blast with it, Aiden is kino and roaming around Chicago is way more comfy than it has any right to be. I think people were still really mad about the e3 trailer when the game came out and didn't give it much of a chance as a result.

I liked gears 1 and 2 but I played them on release when I was like 13 and haven't since

I skipped them all, the game covers and trailers for them never really appealed to me. I've been slowly making my way through older games that I never got around to since I don't mind dated controls and graphics. Plus old games are much more complete than modern ones and I don't have to wade through a sea of popups about the new battle pass season and shop update and patch notes and an ad for the devs newest game when I play them.

if you're just looking for mario rpg-esque combat and are willing to look past other flaws it'll at least deliver well on that, but don't go in expecting a well written story or characters, or puzzles with more substance than "push this block along the designated path"

Dark Souls 3 - Great gameplay, mediocre world design
Elden Ring - Pretty good, dropped the ball in a few places. DLC was a 9/10 until the final boss
Nioh 2 - Great game but it got a little samey after 80 hours.
Lords of the Fallen (2023) - Fun but a little janky. Serious design issues but overall I enjoyed it.
Sekiro - Great. Favorite fromsoft game.

    >Everspace
was meh, could have been good without the meta progression and dumb crafting system
    >Ace Combat Assault Horizon
    awful
    >Pony Island
very neat, played it after Inscryption so I knew the meta stuff was prevalent but that fake Steam friends chat thing got me to talk with a guy I haven't talked to in years
    >Baldur's Gate 3
Solid 1st and 2nd act, but I really wasn't a fan of Act 3, overall nice game
    >AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! Remastered
cool sci-fi skydiving sim, grinding for points to unlock levels was a bit of a pin though
    >Dominions 6
It's Dominions with a few more elements, water stuff is cool
    >カニマン VS メカモンキー
    neat little indie arena fighter
    >Reignfall
could have been better, cool premise but it doesn't really make use of it well
    >Hot Lava
very cool parkour game, reminds me a lot of old CS surf maps
    >Mindustry
great Factorio-like and while a bit more simple, the TD and RTS elements in a level based format make it really fun to go through, the 2nd campaign not so much though
    >King Exit
A lot better than I thought it would be for an H-RPG using RPGmaker default assets
    >Bulb Boy
    a decent point and click
    >R-Type Dimension
I don't know how anyone can enjoy these, sh*t is arcade quarter munching at it's finest, sh*t comes out of the walls and all around you constantly, power ups are needed sorely for certain parts but checkpoints put you before the ones you ideally want spawn in, sh*t basically demands perfect memorization of every single level for a clear
    >EDF Iron Rain
had some nice ideas like Beast Rider, but overall not very good, weapons feel super weak and I wasn't a fan of the upgrade and currency system
    >Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga
was enjoyable, I still like Complete Saga more, open world stuff and less emphasis on level design was a big letdown
    >Forbidden Clicker Party
meh idle game with a neat artstyle, it's short at least
    >Domina
could have been cool if the dev wasn't such a israelite and started sh*tting up his game for internet clout
    cont in next post

Name every game you've finished this year (8)

      >Journey
first time playing, was pretty cool although not much of a game, I was surprised I actually found people to play with
      >Brutal Legend
Could have been great if it focused on either the hack n slash part or the RTS part, but unfortunately it was mediocre in both aspects, the aesthetics and theme carried it hard
      >Gensokyo Defenders
Cool 2hu flavored action TD game
      >Alien Breed Impact
not very good, was mostly just a grafix showcase for UE3 stuff
      >Super Meat Boy
absolutely brutal once it gets ramped up, fun platformer
      >Xotic
cool score attack time attack FPS thing
      >Xanadu Next
neat dungeon crawler, could have been a lot better if you didn't constantly have to backtrack to town to buy endless amounts of keys
      >Chop Goblins
      short and sweet FPS
      >Bytepath
an anon game I think, pretty mindless roguelite shooter but there's a lot of potential builds
      >GENSOU Skydrift
Double Dash esque 2hu kart racer, could use more movement tech but was neat otherwise
      >Rimworld Anomaly
decent, the DLC pretty much takes over the game though, so I'm not sure I'll use it much in further playthroughs
      >Arrival Zero Earth
      a meh survivors like
      >Luck be a Landlord
      fun little slot roguelite
      >Touhou Fuujinroku ~ Mountain of Faith
my first 2hu proper, game was pretty manageable up until the final boss, managed to 1cc it up until that point to burn all of my lives and continues fighting that fricker to get a clear
I've got to get going so I'll just give quick scores to the other stuff I've gone through so far
      >Castlevania Circle of the Moon
      2/5
      >Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance
      2/5
      >Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
      3/5
      >Castlevania Dracula X
      1/5
      >Balatro
      4/5
      >Mega Man Battle Network
      2/5
      >MBN2
2/5 (could have been better if not for the endless backtracking)
      >MMBN3
      2/5(see above)
      >The Bad Kids
      2/5
      Warhammer 40k Space Marine
      3/5
      >Valkyria Chronicles 4
      3/5
      Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2
      3/5
      Fairy Bloom Fantasia
      3/5

Name every game you've finished this year (9)

    >GBF Rising
mostly played for grand bruise, but that wasn't alive long and lacked variety
    >GBF Relink
very fun until it became a high spec autobattler
    >Hat World
2nd playthrough, all sidequests on all routes. One of my favorite games.
    >Enchant Farm
Good pure-gameplay RPG. Cleared with Wind I and Water I, left off halfway on a Burst I tactical hardcore playthrough.
    >Make a Good Mega Man Level 3
Most of the 175 levels actually were good.
    >Lethal Crisis
Replayed since it's on Steam with an english patch now.
    >Lethal Operation: Lethal Arms of Justice
Waited for content and bugfix patches to do postgame. Sadly the patches for CPU load and crashing issues didn't actually fix them.

    >didn't finish
    >Prodigal
Probably pretty close to the end of maingame but it hasn't been fun or interesting. Cute girls at least.
    >Valdis Story
Cleared with Wyatt but haven't felt the urge to continue, and I suspect it isn't the type of game where you're "done" the first time you see credits

I'm trying to limit myself to only two games at a time and really want to play xcom 1 and dark cloud 2 but I decided to finally beat skyrim and I've done 2 cities and need to find the will to play and I'm also playing songs of syx which is fricking amazing but once pop gets high my cpu can't handle super fast speed anymore and I have to play on only 25x speed. I had a hard time finishing games for a while there but I decided to clear some of my backlog before I could buy any more
    >Ff7 Rebirth
Literally had to force myself to finish it. Bored to tears except for a few key scenes like Aeriths song
    >Dragon's Dogma 2
Very fun, had a blast, waiting for dlc
    >Avatar Frontiers if Pandora
Acceptable. Most fun Ubisoft game in a while but that's not saying much. Got tired of the lazy voice actors using gender neutral sh*t instead of just doing two different voice lines.
    >Stellar Blade
Fun, sexy, but just made me want to post devil may cry again
    >Yakuza 8
Loved Hawaii but after the 40th hour started to get burned out

Name every game you've finished this year (12)

    >Afterimage 7.5/10
Sprawling Metroidvania. Fun exploration in a gorgeous world. Kinda meh combat, and the story suffers from a poor localization.
    >Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone 9/10
Fun family drama. Shani best girl.
    >Witcher 3: Blood and Wine 9/10
Fun vampire trash. Regis best girl.
    >Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power Ballsy/10
    lmao unfinished game.
    >Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince 7/10
A solid return to form for Trine, but somewhat easy.
    >Prey (2017) 8/10
Great immersive sim. Sci-fi's alright, but I missed Dishonored's freaky whalepunk aesthetic. Danielle best girl.
    >The Looker 10/10
nice meme. The Witness is in my top 10, so I'm the exact audience for this sh*t.
    >Omensight 6/10
Weird furry timeloop detective game. Story lacks depth and can be figured out 1/4 through. Lacks certain QoL features, too.
    >Trials of Mana 7.5/10
Baffling localization changes. Otherwise a remarkably faithful remake. Repetitive combat.
    >Blasphemous 2 8.5/10
This game is waaaay easier than the first. More combat options, and the world design is more open and loose, which I didn't enjoy. Dark Souls 1 vs. 2 sorta situation.
    >Obduction 4/10
Old west dimension hopping frickery from the devs of Myst. Slow-ass movement. Slow-ass loading, even with a fast SSD and a god-tier PC. Only one game mechanic -- swapping small, localized parts of the level between multiple dimensions. Each swap requires a load screen. So you solve the puzzle in your head pretty much immediately and then the next 5 minutes executing the different swaps. It's hell. Game's too short and ends abruptly, too.
    >Portal 9/10
    needs no summary, lol
    >The Entropy Centre 7/10
Portal at home. I think it was originally going to be a mod for Portal 2, so it has an amateur, rough-around-the-edges quality to it.
    >Zelda - TotK 9/10
I loved the Depths. Charging or falling into pitch darkness never got old once. Device-building was whatever.
    >Morbid - The Seven Acolytes 5/10
    sh*tty 2D soulslike
