PrizePicks NBA Player Predictions Today: Top Plays for October 28 (2024)

PrizePicks NBA Player Predictions Today: Top Plays for October 28 (2)

It was a great night on the large slate yesterday and we’re ready to keep things rolling through the weekend for Saturday’s NBA DFS slate. It’s much more manageable to sort through everything tonight as there are only 7 games, compared to last night’s 11-game slate on PrizePicks. Seven games is a beautiful middle ground for NBA PrizePicks, with enough different players to sort through and pick some gems without being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of options for a PrizePicks prediction.

If you’re new to the site, be sure to take advantage of our special PrizePicks promo code. With the code “GRINDERS,” you can claim a 100% match bonus on your first deposit of up to $100.

Remember, you can also keep tabs on the best PrizePicks picks of the day with our Pick’em Tool. We’re constantly updating this throughout the day in order to account for the latest news, but there’s still value to be found earlier in the afternoon, as well.

NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Jakob Poeltl – More Than 0.5 Blocks

Poeltl anchors one of the league’s best defenses and will be needed for as many minutes as possible tonight matching up against Joel Embiid. Poeltl isn’t a Chet Holmgren-level shot-blocker (how about those 7 blocks last night?) but he has blocked at least one shot in each game this year, including two last night against the Bulls, where he only played 18 minutes due to struggling with foul trouble. The biggest worry for tonight is Poeltl staying on the court, as it’s entirely possible Embiid will draw two fouls very early on Jakob. However, he should probably have a 1.5 block PrizePicks prediction as opposed to 0.5 tonight. He projects for 1.22 blocks according to the RotoGrinders projections, and this play has a 73.54% success rate early in the day according to the NBA Fantasy Pick’em tool.

  • Play: Poeltl – More Than 0.5 Blocks

Daniel Gafford – More Than 9.5 Points

Gafford really struggled with foul trouble last game, then never made it back in late as the Wizards were getting blown out by the Pacers. However, this is a great bounce-back spot against Memphis. As long as he can keep his game clean, Gafford will be needed for massive minutes against a team that typically has two big men on the court at all times. He’s expected to score 13+ points according to the RotoGrinders projections and has a 70.48% chance to surpass 9.5 points according to the NBA Fantasy Pick’em Tool for PrizePicks. Hopefully he can stay out of trouble, and if he does, he should absolutely smash this number.

  • Play: Gafford – More Than 9.5 Points

Jonas Valanciunas – More Than 11.5 Points

The big man looked great in his first outing and has always been an incredibly strong NBA DFS producer as long as he gets the minutes. When it comes to JV, I never look at defensive matchups nearly as much as the other teams’ opposing center. As long as they have a big man who will play minutes and stays close to the hoop, Jonas Valanciunas is almost always a great DFS player on PrizePicks or any other site. He doesn’t quite reach the 70% plateau on the NBA Fantasy Pick’em tool for PrizePicks like Gafford and Poeltl, but he rounds out the top 3 best plays of the slate with a 69.78% success rate and more than a 15-point projection. As long as JV is on the court, he produces. That should be the case tonight against the Knicks who give significant minutes to Mitchell Robinson and Isaiah Hartenstein.

  • Play: Valanciunas – More Than 11.5 Points

Dennis Schroder – More Than 12.5 Points

I wanted to make sure I got this article done nice and early today while Schroder’s PrizePicks prediction was still available. The best part about this one is that it’s a great play if the Raptors roll out a normal lineup but becomes an egregious misprice if we see any shenanigans with their starters tonight. Both Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby struggled with minor injuries and/or cramping last night in an overtime loss to the Bulls, and now the Raptors find themselves on the second half of a back-to-back against the 76ers. If either Barnes or Anunoby is unable to play, Schroder will not only play extended minutes but should see a big increase in usage as well. He’s been heavily involved in the Raptors offense, averaging 16 points and 34 minutes through two games this season. Schroder will likely be a double-digit scorer all season long, and there’s a good chance his PrizePicks NBA DFS predictions slowly rise throughout the year.
